Verify me before you trust me

You should be doing this with any loan officer you talk to, and that includes me. Go to NMLS Consumer Access and search my NMLS ID. It's free, it takes about a minute, and it'll show you my license status in every state, my employment history, and any disciplinary actions.

Where I'm personally licensed

Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona and Idaho. Mortgage Express, LLC holds licenses in a broader set of states, and not all loan officers are licensed in all states, so if you're looking at a property outside those five, tell me early and I'll either get you to a licensed colleague or tell you straight that I can't help.

Required disclosures

Mortgage Express, LLC is licensed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation under the Residential Mortgage Lending Act. Licensed in OR, ID, WA, UT, CA, CO and AZ. Not all Loan Officers are licensed in all states.

This is not a commitment to lend. Program terms, rates and conditions are subject to change without notice. All loans are subject to credit and property approval. Loan products and availability may vary by state. Some loan products may be offered through approved lending partners. Mortgage Express, LLC is an Equal Housing Opportunity.

About the content on this site

Everything here is general education about how mortgage financing works. It is not financial, tax, legal or immigration advice, and it is not an offer or a commitment to lend. Loan program rules change frequently — sometimes monthly — and while I date every page and try to keep them current, you should confirm anything you're relying on with me directly before acting on it.

Where a page cites a figure from a government agency, a GSE selling guide, or a published lender program, I've named the source at the bottom of that page so that you can go check it yourself.

No rates published here

You'll notice that this site quotes no interest rates anywhere, and that's deliberate. A rate quoted without knowing your credit, your down payment, the property type, the occupancy and the loan program isn't information, it's bait. Advertised rates also trigger specific disclosure requirements under Regulation Z, and the honest version of that disclosure runs longer than the rate is useful. So ask me for a real quote instead.

Reporting a problem

If you have a complaint about my conduct or about Mortgage Express, you can contact the company directly, file with your state regulator through NMLS Consumer Access, or submit a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint. In Oregon, the Division of Financial Regulation is the agency that handles mortgage licensee complaints.
